Cyalith Tiles

Cyalith has a bioinspired structure similar to seashells, with the active ingredients being naturally occurring calcium carbonate and a biopolymer obtained from photosynthetic algae.

We aim to source the biopolymer as a waste product from 3rd generation biofuels production or other algae-based biomanufacturing. Therefore, Cyalith tiles could support the emerging bioeconomy by utilising what would otherwise be a low value by product.
